Wonderful Dark
Our story focus has been about a little hedgehog called Ned. He is looking for a home to hibernate in and meets lots of other animals on his way. We have acted the story out, made all sorts of homes and hibernating animals as well as creating our own story maps.
We have had such a busy few weeks learning all about the dark, Autumn and animals that hibernate or are nocturnal.
We made an amazing non-fiction class book all about them.
Take a look and see what else we have found out or explored...
In forest school we have been measuring and sorting different branches so that we can have a fire. We made black night sky playdough and played a dice game with twinkly stars. We made firework patterns and wrote our names in the black sand as well as going on an Autumn treasure hunt with magnifying glasses and clipboards!
We started our new topic this week...the wonderful dark.
We explored different mark making to create a firework lit sky, learnt new vocabulary to describe and talk about fireworks, explored different instruments and their sounds to match to the words and then we worked together to make...A DARK DEN!!
