King Charles III Coronation Picnic Lunch - Parents and family members were invited to join their children for a picnic lunch on the school field. Thankfully the sun shone between the rain storms and everyone had a great time!

Teams4U Christmas Boxes - A big thank you to everyone for your kind donations. Keith (T4U) collected 17 boxes and a large bag of items from school today. In two weeks time they will be on a lorry heading for Romania and Ukraine.

Remembrance - Children from oaks contributed to the Remembrance Service at the village memorial on 11th November 2021
In September musicians from the London Sinfonietta Orchestra worked with the children in Oaks to explore, compose and perform a variety of music.

We had a visit today! Last Friday the children filled our large jar with glass nuggets for demonstrating respect, readiness and responsibility. All the children and staff were treated to a well earned ice cream! Thank you to the Friends for supporting this.

Beeches children have been enjoying planting seeds for our new vegetable garden on the top site. They have planted peas in the raised beds and broccoli, squash, courgettes and tomatoes in the cold frames. We are hoping for a bumper crop of vegetables this year!
Our new Spiritual and Sensory garden has been planted up by the children. Children's senses of smell, hearing, taste, sight and touch will be stimulated with the carefully chosen plants. Other plants will help promote a place for calm and stillness.

Local shoppers at Bare Necessities, have been donating food for the Forest Foodbank. Mrs Gait had arranged with Spike (owner) to collect the food with some children from Oaks and deliver to the Forest Foodbank in Cinderford.



Daxa taught our Key Stage 2 children about Hinduism on Thursday 6th June, please see class pages for additional photographs.




Clare Hammond, International Concert Pianist, visited our school on Wednsday 5th June where she performed a recital to the whole school. Thank you to Nick Steele from Gloucestershire Music for providing us with this amazing experience.
