A Wander in the Woods
Willows looked at a Winter Wood image. We talked about where charcoal comes from and explored markmaking with it. This helped us to make tall, wide, narrow, thin tree trunks by using different sized brushes and charcoal.
Willows would love to tell you a story...their own version of Little Red Riding Hood! We have listened to and compared different books of this traditional tale and thought we would create our own.
We used apples in healthy recipe to make Yoghurt Apple Crunch. Some of us liked it and some of us tried it!
More Little Red Riding Hood learning!
We have made maps, used Bee-Bot to get to Granny’s cottage, made buildings, painted characters, weighed the Logcutter’s equipment and so much more!
A wonderful Wintery day!
We explored the freezing and frosty playground and made marks using a stick.
What a strange morning! There was a visitor asleep in the bed! In our role play area! It was Little Red Riding Hood’s Granny! We looked after her, fed her, talked and listened to her and showed her that she was in a book!
We have started our new topic “Wander in the Woods” by reading the traditional tale “Little a Red Riding Hood”.
We created a cottage for Granny, built a cabin for the Logcutter, made sweet smelling red play dough, created a small world by listening to the story for clues and dressed up in character!
