Family Support & Early Help Advice
Family Support and Early Help Advice
Hello, my name is Kealey Broddle and I am the Family Support Worker (FSW) at Ruardean C of E Primary School.
We understand that many children and families experience difficult times which can make a happy, successful school and home life a struggle. If you have worries about your child, connected with school, it is always best to discuss these with the class teacher or the Head as they will know your child and can work with you to address any issues.
Sometimes, there are other problems that parents or carers need some help with. I am here to listen and offer support. I work in a non-judgmental way and I know that families come in all shapes and sizes! I have over 20 years’ experience of working with children, young people and their parents and carers. If I can’t help directly, I am able to signpost or refer parents and carers to appropriate support. Here are just some examples of the things I can help with:
o Getting to school on time and good attendance
o Mental or physical health issues
o Supporting parents and carers to ‘get involved’ with school life
o Housing and money worries
o Family relationship problems
o Bereavement and loss
o New starts and settling in
o Training, education and employment
o Parenting skills
I am available on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons 1.30pm-3.00pm for 1 to 1 sessions with parents
Appointments can be made with the school office, just call in and book.
