Bulbs, beans and bugs
Please take a look at our non-fiction fact book all about snails. We used our snails, books and video clips to help us find the facts.
After last week’s scavenger hunt to find different bugs and creatures we made our own snail using natural materials.
We sorted everything that we collected into piles and sizes. Then we created a spiral as a group, decorating the shell and making the snail’s foot and tentacles as well.
Willows Weekly...Willows Weekly...
Children in Willows were grateful to Mr.Wadsworth this week as he found 2 snails that were happy to have a holiday of a lifetime in the Snail Tank in Willows’ classroom.
They have been named Sonic and Berkeley. So far we have found that they are partial to a bit of cucumber but not so much lettuce. And that they poo quite a bit!
This week we have been tasting and exploring different fruits and then making our own fruit kebabs.
Over the last couple of weeks we have had great fun finding out about things that grow. Our main story focus is “Jasper’s Beanstalk” - you may know it from our 100 book challenge.
Not only have we been exploring planting, growing, farms and bulbs but we also discovered a lost set of keys! Who do you think they belonged to? Tap on the photo to enlarge it 🙂
As we didn’t know what the owner of the keys was like, we used some of our senses to have a think.
We made a fabulous list of interesting words to describe them and then used these to write about them.
Take at look at our shared writing. We blew Mrs. Spence’s socks off with our vocabulary and ability to use our sounds to write!
wow! What a surprise...
for all of our hard work in showing readiness, responsibility and respect, the school had a visit from the Ice-cream Van! Delicious!
