School and Eco Council

School and Eco Council

Every year the  school council are elected and chosen for their roles in a full democratic process. Meetings are held with ideas for the school, feedback and fundraising ideas prompted and organised.

Last year we raised money by running a Valentines Day hot chocolate stall, Easter craft competition and sweet sale! This has raised school council over £100.

Our School council are also our Eco warriors who are supporting the school to become more sustainable and reduce our carbon footprint.

  • Our Worship team decorated our Christmas Tree in church with a sustainability theme - all the pupils in the school helped to make the decorations by reusing and repurposing our waste: Baubels from milks bottles, tinsel from milk bottle tops and decorations from crisp packets.

With a grant from West Mercia Electricity, we have been able to replace all our lightbulbs in KS2 to low energy lightbulbs – and as they are brighter we only need half of them on!

We have switched to using recycled paper. This is not only better for the environment but is also dyslexia friendly.

We have taken part in two litter picks in the village one with the Forest of Dean Bloom Project and one with Life's a Beach.
