Viney Hill Christian Adventure Centre whole school trip
Fri 11 Apr 2025Wow, what a day we all had yesterday at Viney Hill for our Easter story adventure day! We had children learning about trust on the climbing walls; sequencing the Easter story through orienteering and making bread over a camp fire and then sharing it together. Thank you to all the staff at school for making this day possible and thank you to all the children for showing a 'Love of Life' and giving things a go that pushed them out of their comfort zones.

Save the Pangolin, Beeches Class Assembly
Wed 09 Apr 2025Beeches knocked our socks off today with a great Save the Pangolin assembly. We learnt all about this 'scaley' mammal and how it is at risk of extinction. The class made cakes yesterday which they sold to raise money to adopt a Pangolin. They all designed T-shirts to spread awareness and entertained us with a Kenyan song. Well done Beeches - you did us proud!! Check out the Video resource centre tab to see the whole assembly video. HERE

Author Matt Davies Visit
Mon 24 Mar 2025The children were really lucky today to meet Author Matt Davies. He read the whole school his book - Inspector Earwig and the Garden Thief. The children then got a question and answer session - we especially liked the question " What gives you the courage to write a book? and "Did you make any mistakes writing the book?"
Matt then did a workshop with Beeches Class where they got to come up with their own characters.
If you didn't get around to ordering your signed book please check out Matt's website Matt Davies to order one.

My Happy Mind accreditation
Fri 14 Mar 2025We are proud to announce that we are a myHappymind Bronze Accredited school!
This means that as a school we consider the mental health and wellbeing of our children as one of our top priorities. We have created a whole school culture that helps build our children's resilience, confidence and self esteem as well as teaching them how to self regulate in those stressful times.
This Accreditation badge has been awarded thanks to all the effort our staff, children, governors and parents have put in to bring the lessons of myHappymind to life all around our school!

Exciting News: Wraparound Funding Bid Successful
Mon 10 Mar 2025Wraparound Funding Bid Successful!
We are excited to announce that we have received confirmation that our funding bid application to GCC to open and run breakfast and after school wraparound childcare provision during term-time has been approved.
All being well, we plan on opening the clubs week commencing 28/04/25.
We do require contractors to refurbish Elms classroom and improve site access and security. These works may not be completed until later in the term, however, we plan to use Firs classroom if works have not been completed by our planned opening date.
Places will be bookable via a bespoke clubs booking module which will be available via ParentPay.
The Breakfast club will open 7.40am-8.40am and cost approximately £5.50 per child and After-School Club will run from 3.15pm-6.00pm, costs from £9.50 until 5.30pm or £10.50 until 6pm. (Please note: there may be a slight tweak to these costs before our launch).
Further information on how you can secure a place for your child and find out more about the provision will be sent out soon.
